The American Friends of the Ivan Fischer Opera Company Inc. is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the international artistic mission of the Ivan Fischer Opera Company (IFOC) — an ensemble founded by world-renowned conductor Iván Fischer to reinvent how opera is experienced, shared, and loved across cultures.
Through our network of friends, patrons, and donors, we help bring world-class opera productions, education programs, and cultural collaborations from Europe to audiences throughout the United States and beyond.

Founded in 2024 and recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity, The American Friends of the Ivan Fischer Opera Company Inc. serves as the official U.S. partner organization supporting IFOC’s artistic vision.
Our mission is to advance opera as a living art form, foster cross-cultural understanding, and ensure that the creative legacy of Maestro Iván Fischer continues to inspire artists and audiences worldwide.
We collaborate with foundations, theaters, and individuals to support performances, residencies, and cultural exchanges that reflect IFOC’s unique blend of creativity, humanity, and excellence.
1. Cultural Exchange & Performances
We facilitate international tours, joint productions, and guest appearances that bring IFOC’s bold reinterpretations of classic and modern operas to the United States.
2. Educational Outreach
Through partnerships with schools, conservatories, and community programs, we make opera accessible to young audiences and students of music, fostering appreciation and participation in the arts.
3. Artist Support & Fellowships
We help sponsor training opportunities and residencies for promising vocalists, musicians, and production artists who embody IFOC’s spirit of innovation and integrity.
